Here’s to the start of a wonderful week! In this issue, I am getting straight to it: somebody is always watching you. I had this realization last week when someone for the Project Management Institute (PMI) wanted to connect with me on LinkedIn. At first, I was surprised because I never had anyone from PMI as a connection. Then it clicked that PMI was watching my Project Management Mondays Live (PMM Live) videos. For the past 3 weeks, I discussed the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) 6th edition changes on my show. My videos’ keywords were front page YouTube search so they were visible. I had been broadcasting PMM Live for 12 consecutive weeks. I noticed that my numbers were higher than a show that had been on longer with a bigger budget. The week they didn’t have any guest, their numbers were lower than mine! My experience proved two things: 1) the importance of video towards your career and personal brand positioning and 2) somebody is always watching.
Programming Note: PMM Live – Giving Up Control Episode Today at 6pm EST
Today at 6pm EST, I am airing an all-new Project Management Mondays Live (PMM Live). This episode will discuss PMBOK’s decision to rename many control processes as monitoring processes. I will discuss the shift and why there’s more emphasis on the monitoring part of the monitoring and controlling domain.
